The Center For the Arts offers an excellent space for artist exhibitions and shows. Generally, a space for group shows, exhibitions usually rotate on a monthly to bi-monthly basis and include an opening reception during the 2nd weekend of the month. LCCA also provides a glass showcase at the front of the building for solo "Artist of the month" displays, which also rotate on a bi-monthly basis. The Lea County Commission For the Arts offers selected artist who excel in crafts such as glasswork, lace, pottery, jewelry, cards and small works of sculpture an opportunity to include their work in the Center's gift shop.

Center For the Arts supports emerging musicians. We are always searching for bands and/or musical artists to perform at our open mic events, exhibitions and sometimes as opening bands during our Downtown Sounds concerts. Music cannot be vulgar, nor contain explicit lyrics. The Center will retain possession of a CD, unless return postage is included and specified in mailing.

Local, State-Wide, And Regional Bands Are Invited To Submit A Demo CD Of Their Music To The Following Address:

The Lea County Commission for the Arts offers a paid internship for college-level students, each fall and spring semester, sponsored by the Rotary Club of Hobbs.

This intern position provides opportunities for students to gain valuable work experience and business skills, necessary to become successful in the professional work field as well as supplement their classroom learning.

Interns are generally required to work at least eight hours each week, including special events at the Center. Applications usually require 2 letters of recommendation and a current college transcript. Schedules are flexible. Applications for the 2017 Spring semester internship are currently closed. Shows / Events

The Lea County Commission For the Arts is open to renting its building to certain entities and groups for occasional purposes and gatherings such as banquets, receptions, and similar events

Center For the Arts total rental fees vary, depending on size of party and use of facility equipment.

We encourage and support writers of all genres and tales. The Lea County Commission For the Arts is always open to offering a space for writers, interested in conducting book signings at the Center. For writers and publishers interested, please send your inquiries, as well as a brief summary of your published work to the following email address, with the subject line, titled "book inquiry."
