In honor of Hispanic Heritage month, the Lea County Commission for the Arts partners with the Hobbs Hispano Chamber of Commerce and Foundation to present in conjunction with “Fiestas de Septiembre” to present a program and exhibition celebrating Hispanic culture.

Last year, The celebration featured two live performances, including the Santa Fe Youth Symphony Association Mariachi band, “Mariachi Estrella” and Southern Heights Ballet Folklorico student dancers. The event is free and open to all ages.

The year prior LCCA presented “Celebracion II” a composition of artwork by four Hispanic-based artists from Oklahoma City. The exhibit featured paintings, sculptures, photography, installations and found objects by artists such as Laura Malagon, Paul Medina, Rocio Del Solar and Narciso Argüelles.
