After School

21st Century Community Learning Centers Afterschool Program

Wednesday afterschool art classes are back at the Center for the Arts! Thanks in part to the generous support of the United Way of Lea County, the Lea County Commission for the Arts will be offering children’s afterschool art classes every Wednesday, starting September 13th at the Center for the Arts!

During classes, students will learn how to work with various mediums as well as explore different techniques in creating. The classes are divided into two age groups. Classes for K-3rd grade will take place on Wednesdays from 2:30-3:30pm. Classes for 4th - Up will take place from 3:45-4:45pm. The class fee is $5 per class and includes a free weekly snack with all art supplies provided by the Center. Class schedules are liable to change with holidays.

Also starting Thursday, September 14th, LCCA will host art classes for residents of LEADERS Industries, the Hobbs High School Special Education Department and all adults with developmental disabilities. The classes will take place every Thursday from 1:30-2:30pm at the Center for the Arts. All supplies will be provided.

The class limit for each class is 30 students. Space will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Students must be registered in order to participate. The class fee is $5 per class. Registrations can be picked up at the Center for the Arts on 122 W Broadway or downloaded from the link below. For more information, please call (575) 397-ARTS or email us at director.lcca@gmail.com
